personalised quotes

Each quote is personalised based on the volume, language pair, area of expertise and service. To find out the budget, contact Word Illusio and a project manager will send you a quote quickly after receiving the information required to draw up the proposal (contact details, files, languages, etc.).

NB: A minimum payment of €50, excluding taxes, is required whatever the request.

prepaid packages

Word Illusio can also offer its clients prepaid packages: a flat rate for translation paid in advance creating a word-based credit facility. A project manager monitors the balance and can tell you how much is available at any time. You can also top it up whenever you wish.

Clients appreciate the package system because requests can be processed so quickly. Once a package has been purchased, you simply send your document for translation to the project manager and you receive the translation as soon as possible. No need to wait for a quote to be signed off or a purchase order.

professional translators

WORD ILLUSIO works with experienced translators who translate into their mother tongues.

  • rigorous academic qualifications

Translators with a master’s degree in translation or an equivalent qualification from a translation school. These translators often specialise in 2 or 3 areas. Their skills improve with experience and they enhance their technique and knowledge of terminology every day.

  • valuable practical experience

Translators with another qualification (equivalent to a master’s degree) in law, medicine, IT, marketing, etc. who have received training in translation or have learnt the language in the field. These translators specialise in 2 disciplines, something which is highly valued in very technical fields.

translation memory and terminology database

WORD ILLUSIO works with SDL TRADOS STUDIO 2017, a computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool. It should not be confused with automatic translation. All our translations are carried out by human translators.

Thanks to this tool, our translation agency can analyse your files and calculate the amount to be translated. It can handle dozens of file types, can configure what needs to be translated or what does not, and works with translation memories and terminology databases. This tool is the gold standard on the translation market and is used by agencies and translators.

what is a translation memory?

In their translation interface, translators can create or add an existing memory to their project. This memory assists them by suggesting translations which have already been provided for that client in a similar document. A translator can then accept or reject any suggestions made by the memory, assuming the software has found some matches. At the end of each document translated, the translation is recorded in the memory.

an individual memory

As data confidentiality is essential, every client has a translation memory for each language pair they use. These memories will not be used for other clients.

a memory which grows

Each new project is recorded in a client’s memory. It therefore constitutes an enormous database of translated segments. If a client would like to improve the translation of a sentence or delete the translation of a term and replace it with another, a project manager ensures that these changes are carried out with the participation of the translator. The memory is updated with the new informati

a memory representing long-term savings

The more an agency translates for the same client, the more matches there are. The memory system means that the number of repetitions can be calculated and therefore the agency’s fee will be lower. However, a translator always verifies that a translation is correct for its context, even if the memory proposes a 100% match.

an efficient memory

This memory system can quickly identify any updates in a document. The new words to be translated will be calculated on the basis of the analysis produced by Trados.

terminology database

For large or technical projects requiring a glossary, it is possible to create a new glossary or use an existing one in SDL Trados Studio which can be applied directly to a translator’s translation interface. Over the course of the translation, the terminology database associated with a given project notifies the translator as to how the terms are to be translated.

systematic quality control

WORD ILLUSIO attaches much importance to quality and client satisfaction. That is why the agency systematically operates a quality control process for any work carried out by requesting the expertise of another translator/reviser.

  • Upon receipt of any work provided by a translator, the agency carries out basic checks. Has everything been translated? Is it the right document? Are there any punctuation mistakes?
  • The agency then moves on to expert verification of a sample of the work by another translator/reviser. In the sample defined by the agency, that individual must decide whether the translation is of good or poor quality and identify any mistakes.
  • For each quality control process, the reviser gives us their overall opinion and sends us comments with explanations.
  • If a quality control process proves to be negative, the project manager contacts the translator about their work and asks them either to justify their choices if there is problem of style or terminology, or to work on the document again.
  • The agency then requires the same reviser to carry out the quality control process on another sample of the document. This process remains in place until the quality is satisfactory for the project manager and the reviser.
  • The translation is then delivered to the client
